Claxton's Releases

This small batch single malt is a nod to the illustrious heritage of the former Glencarrick Distillery and is styled on the flavour of a historic Lowland Scotch through careful maturation in sherry and ex-Islay whisky casks

This blended Scotch whisky has been carefully created at the Dalswinton Bond using a high-peated malt content for a complex and smoky flavour.

Unlike single malt production, Single Grain Scotch Whisky can be made from a variety of grains or cereal types and is distilled through continuous distillation. This means that the resultant spirit flows from the stills with a more refined character. Modern misconceptions about this process mean grain whisky is often overshadowed by its more famous malt counterpart. This is a narrative that needs rewriting.

On February 10th, 1306,  John Comyn (The Red), potential heir to the Scottish throne, was murdered at the altar of the Greyfriars Church by the future King of Scotland, Robert the Bruce. This tale is entwined in the heritage of the Dalswinton Estate where the Comyn’s Castle once stood. This bottling is a nod to this important story in Scottish history which is largely untold, with the true details being lost to folklore. The whisky inside this bottle is natural colour and non-chill filtered, finished in Ruby Port casks for a distinctive “red” finish.

Part of the flagship range, Warehouse No.1 represents top-quality bottlings from traditional dunnage style warehouses where casks are matured and selected to provide the best example of each individual spirit type, cask and flavour profile available.

Warehouse No.8 is also part of the flagship range, based on the same principles as Warehouse No.1 of premium casks and premium quality.

The Exploration series focuses on single cask releases with quality and accessibility in mind. This range encourages customers to explore the whisky regions that might otherwise have been inaccessible.

The Claxton’s Dalswinton Bond is situated in the rolling green hills of Dumfries & Galloway and, like many before us, we have taken inspiration from these idyllic surroundings. The Dalswinton Series celebrates the unique location of the bond and exemplifies, what we feel, is the best liquid each whisky region has to offer.

The Claxton’s Dalswinton Series made its first appearance in 2022 and included 5 exceptional whiskies. Each cask was specially selected and matured over several years, showcasing their elegant and varied profiles. With this in mind, we are now ready to introduce the next 5 whiskies in this line; The Dalswinton Series Second Edition. Following the same format as the original Dalswinton Series, each cask in this release has been specially selected and matured.

The Unicorn Series has been created to showcase the hidden gems and oddities we have hiding in the Dalswinton Warehouses.
